My attention was first directed to the series by a cross-reference from Ranma 1/2. I loved the character design of Birdy in the OVAs and just couldn't help collecting cels from the series. There is a new TV series out in 2008: Birdy Decode. I'm afraid that the character design on the new series just doesn't grab me that same way the original series does.
