At the beginning of the series, Akane has to fight her way through a bunch of boys to get into school each morning. This cel is from the second time the morning school fight is shown in the TV series. At the beginning of the fight, Akane defeats the first boy to attack her, a guy with a tennis racket. Here, his shoe appears in frame as he falls back away from Akane, who is landing after kicking him with a flying leap.
Sometimes, I wonder if time has made some of my title references too obscure -- Ed Sullivan, anyone?
