Akane has found her mother's old recipe book. Kasumi is holding it and reminising about the book and her experience learning to cook. This scene occurs as part of a flashback narrated by Kasumi as she recounts her trials and tribulations. Here, Soun is about to exclaim how wonderful Kasumi's cooking is, just like her mother's, as the Tendo girls have dinner with their father.
