Ranma is standing in the Cat Cafe after a failed attempt to meet his mother as a boy. In this cel, Ranma has just picked up the flower he is holding off the chair where it fell when he got splashed with cold water earlier. After this, he walks to the door where his mother accidentally slices off the flower, causing him to lose his resolve to reveal himself to her.
Although played for laughs, as always, the last two episodes of the TV series, the two-part "Boy Meets Mom", are quite touching, dealing with a child's / husband's loss of or separation from mother / wife.
