Hey - Akane with a big mallet! It was a must-have cel!
Happosai is dreaming and the others are trapped in his dream. In response to Nabiki's suggestion, Akane has just tried to hammer Ranma with the big mallet, but he jumped out of the way. In anger just before this cel, Akane is calling Ranma a wimp. In the actual cel, Soun has entered the scene, mostly blocking the view of the mallet, to talk to Akane.
Although the appearance of a mallet from "hammer-space" is not an unusual occurrence in the manga, Akane resorts to a big mallet in very few instances in the anime - in this episode and in Movie 3 and in the OVA "Hell Hath No Fury Like Kasumi Scorned!". However, this episode is the only one in which Ranma is the target of the mallet.
