Akane is in her blue one-piece bathing. In this image, the straps appear black because they are in shadow. She has nearly drowned after numerous unorthodox attempts by Principal Kuno to teach her to swim. Here she says she is withdrawing from the swimming competition and wishes Ukyo well.
Although Akane is often shown having a violent temper, the moments showing her vulnerable side make for some of the best cel images of her.
