This scene is part of a flashback. Ranma recounts to Akane the story of how he encountered the Dragon's Whisker. In this cel, Ranma-chan is walking up a hill carrying a rock on her back when a porridge thief runs away from an innkeeper. Ranma-chan turns to look to see what is happening. Later, Ranma-chan stops the thief but eats the porridge herself.
