Misato Katsuragi is drinking her soup with her morning beer. She is engaging in a conversation with Shinji about the taste of the soup as Asuka yells about the shower water temperature.
Although not a striking cel of Misato, it captures a moment of domestic tranquility at the start of the day that seems to represent the family relationship that both Misato and Shinji seem to yearn for.
